Toyota announced that it is recalling about 400,000 of its signature Prius green cars and other hybrids worldwide for braking problems.
After initially downplaying complaints by owners that 2010 Prius brakes could release unexpectedly, the troubled Japanese manufacturer acknowledged last week that it had quietly instituted a “fix” to solve the problem with the sedans that it has built since sometime in January.
